Clean House Clean Mind Anthology ©2002 48 pages of selected text and images from my one-of-a-kind books with an edgy focus on the matters of daily domestic life. This 6 ½ x 5” casebound book was letterpress printed (using photopolymer plates) at the Ars Brevis Press (now located in Beverly Massachusetts) on domestic etching paper in an edition of 50. With a forward by poet, Nancy Kangas. Title is foil stamped on the cover and spine. Each copy is signed. |

Glove Index (©1999) 48 pages of scanned images of vintage while gloves on Mohawk warm white paper alternated with text on UV vellum. This elegant 15 x 5 ½“ book has a white leatherette cover and a white wire spiral binding. The text (inspired by prepositional phrases in the index of a traditional etiquette book) pairs imagined occasions for glove wearing with each glove image. |

Instructions (©1997) A crescendo of 32 pages of instructions. Gleaned from many areas of daily life – ranging from child and personal care to car maintenance and medical directions - this is a must read/must have for all of us who struggle to follow the instructions. Letterpress printed by the Yellow Ochre Press on domestic etching paper. Title is foil stamped in black on black covers. |

A die-cut, 10 x 10” offset publication. It functions as a puzzle in response to the Question: “How does Mother spend her day?” flip and fold (backwards and forwards) the outer 12 tabs into the center square to find out. The images come from my ink drawings inspired by the mundane yet universally essential activities necessitated by the daily care of young children. Gretel Hickman's poem Mother's Day provides the text for this publication. |

Hambone's Lament (©2007) Ink-jet printed pages in wire coil binding with white foil stamped title on cover. 6.5 x 14” I wrote the original text in 1991 during the first Gulf War. Using the traditional African-American lyrics of Hambone Hambone as a starting point, the text expresses the anguish of a mother raising children in a culture that fetishes pregnancy and childhood and is willing to send its young into the horror of war. |
