Fifty-ninth Connection: Clearly visible

This rubber stamped envelope from mail artist and visual poet, Joel Lipman, (circa early 1980s) is now attached to and clearly visible as part of the Second Sight Canopy, a new installation, made for my current exhibition Drawing on Second Sight in the Lindner Annex Gallery of the Kennedy Heights Art Center Annex. The ability to reach out to and interact with other artists was and continues to be crucial to me. The quiet subversiveness of using the process of sending mail through the postal service to create art has its own power. Participation in the process is decided by the participant not by an outside gatekeeper. More about Joel: http://abracadabrapoetry.com/about/
