In this detail from my drawing Letter Sampler: X and Little Blue Eyes ©2000, the objects of our gaze – look back at us. Each of these two ambiguous grey pink objects, shaped a bit like clam shells or Madeleine cookies, are covered with rows of opened blue eyes.
