Thirty-fourth Connection: Poignant glimpse
From my correspondence with Robin Crozier, a MEMO(Random)/MEMO (RY) https://www.facebook.com/memorandommemory from Jonathan Stangroom dated December 14, 1991. As a participant in this project of Robin’s – I received a series of folded sheets of 8.5 x 11” paper in business-sized envelopes in the mail (the kind delivered by an actual mail carrier). Each sheet listed as its subject/instruction: “what do you remember about ____?”( a specific date- usually at least a year in the past). After completing my sheet and mailing it back to Robin, I would receive another correspondent’s completed MEMO(ry). Still a delightful poignant glimpse into another person’s world. I enjoy the contrast between the improvised direct feeling of Jonathan’s message and imagining the careful time consuming activity of hand stamping each of the letters to make the message.
