Seventy-third Connection: thinking about impermanence

While working on the test drawing detail (for a larger project that became a large drawing) that I made into the pages of this artists’ book, All Seeing da Vinci Cells ©2005, I remember thinking about impermanence and about how this, the transitory nature of everything, could be oddly comforting. If nothing stays the same, everyday is different, everyday is new. Acknowledging that people, animals, plants, weather, rocks- everything- none of it is static and all of it is in the midst of some kind of process, helps me feel relief from an anxious and constricted, wrongheaded desire to control things until they are just the way I want them and then struggling to keeping them that way.
